A Barangay Health Workers Appreciation Day for the Municipality of San Miguel’s Rural Health Unit and the health workers of all the 24 barangays (villages) of the municipality was held on August 11, 2018, at Goducate Training Center, Iloilo. The theme of the event was “In Unity We Could Serve Better“.
Goducate’s Community Health Program is working towards strengthening its relationship with its partners and allies. Goducate is thankful for the steadfast partnership of the municipality in helping and empowering the people of San Miguel. This appreciation day was held to recognize the valuable efforts and sacrifices of barangay health workers all over the municipality to proactively combat malnutrition, hypertension, diabetes, and other health-related concerns.

60 participants headed by Dr. Mary Jane Gimeno, the rural health physician, enjoyed team-building activities and socializing with their fellow health workers through interactive discussions and fellowshipping over food. They also participated in a forum during which they discussed and shared with each other their best practices, common problems, and solutions.

Everyone went home with not just full stomachs but also with joyful hearts knowing that all are supportive of each other in helping the municipality. They also received certificate of appreciation and a simple token.
